    1. R.E.P.O

R.E.P.O has perfected the chaotic horror comedy genre. In R.E.P.O, you and your friends are tasked with collecting scraps for money whilst exploring hostile alien planets. Sounds just like Lethal Company doesn’t it?

R.E.P.O was inspired by Lethal Company, but it comes with a genius twist…

When you collect items you must carry them using R.E.P.O’s hilarious physics system. This requires your team to communicate clearly so nobody drops or damages the valuable scrap items.

If an item is dropped or bumped it can bring your team to bankruptcy. All these factors make R.E.P.O the best game to play after Lethal Company.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: R.E.P.O on Steam

    2. Abiotic Factor

Abiotic Factor is the most underrated game on this list. I absolutely love this game and it deserves a lot more attention.

You and your friends play as scientists stranded at a top secret research facility which has descended into chaos. This was caused by a catastrophic event that unleashed deadly creatures, extradimensional beings and extreme military forces.

You must now work together to survive, crafting what you can find into makeshift weapons and tools that will help you to escape.

Abiotic Factor has all the calamity and unexpected events that Lethal Company provides. Whilst also providing really deep crafting mechanics that make it endlessly replay-able.

This is my number one recommendation for those who havenโ€™t played it yet!

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“6
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Abiotic Factor on Steam

    3. Zort

Zort is a co-op comedic survival horror indie game that follows the same loot and escape gameplay loop, just like Lethal Company.

Despite following the Lethal Company formula, you and your friends will find yourself in a lot of unique and hilarious dilemmas that will result in endless laughter.

There are a horde of dangers to look out for and you’ll never know what is around the corner next.

Zort also tends to have shorter run times which makes it a great option if you want to hop on for a game without it taking hours of your time.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Zort on Steam

    4. Phasmophobia

Phasmophobia is a viral co-op indie horror game that has you and your friends explore haunted locations to help investigate paranormal activity. Youโ€™ll be armed with ghost hunting equipment and proximity voice chat, whilst you try to gather enough evidence to uncover what type of ghost is haunting the location.

This makes for a marvelous time with friends. Youโ€™re more likely to die of laughter hearing your friends scream in terror whilst they run away from a poltergeist.

Phasmophobia is an indie cult classic that you need to play.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam, VR supported)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat & ghost voice recognition
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Phasmophobia on Steam

    5. Nuclear Nightmare

Nuclear Nightmare is an intense co-op horror game where you and your squad will explore an abandoned nuclear facility filled with nightmare inducing anomalies. Your task is to retrieve classified materials whilst evading an other worldly black goo – just like in John Carpenter’s “The Thing“.

You must escape before the US government go nuclear and obliterate the location to keep the horrors contained.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Nuclear Nightmare on Steam

    6. The Headliners

The Headliners is an often overlooked co-op indie game horror experience that I also think deserves more attention. You play as daring investigative journalists who venture onto the frontline to discover what is going on in New York City. The city has been overrun with terrifying monsters, but it is your duty to capture it all.

I love the fact that up to 8 players can play together, this really multiplies the laughs, screams and chaos. Proximity voice chat also adds to the confusion and fun whilst monsters lurk and attack your squad from every direciton.

The Headliners has a similar vibe to Content Warning.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“8
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: The Headliners on Steam

    7. KLETKA

KLETKA is the crazy Eastern European version of Lethal Company. Itโ€™s a gritty atmospheric co-op survival horror game where you descend into a monstrous underground facility searching for valuable loot.

What makes KLETKA unique is that each run starts and ends with the elevator. To continue to the next round youโ€™ll need to make it back to the elevator with your loot and without any scratches.

Each floor holds a new threat and environment to explore.

This coupled with proximity chat and procedural generation makes for an extremely fun adventure.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“6
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: KLETKA on Steam

    8. Murky Divers

Murky Divers is a co-op horror looter where you and your crew dive deep into alien infested waters in search of valuable relics. Youโ€™ll explore derelict structures and dark ocean trenches whilst managing your oxygen levels, loot weight and avoiding underwater monsters that want to drag you into the murky depths.

Runs are generally shorter and focus on extraction based gameplay. Proximity voice chat, as always, makes this a whale of a time.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Murky Divers on Steam

    9. Deep Rock Galactic

Deep Rock Galactic is a beloved co-op shooter where you and your friends play as space dwarves sent to mine dangerous alien caverns. Each mission will have you drilling, detonating explosives and surviving waves of alien enemies. All this whilst you work together to extract minerals and get out alive.

Deep Rock Galactic is just like Lethal Company but with mining and awesome facial hair. I can’t recommend Deep Rock Galactic enough – it’s a masterpiece.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC, Xbox, PlayStation
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Built-in squad voice chat
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Deep Rock Galactic on Steam

    10. Subterror

Subterror is one of the lesser known co-op survival horror games on this list, but you shouldnโ€™t overlook it. You and your friends will explore abandoned biospheres located at the bottom of the ocean.

These biospheres were once thriving with life, but are now eerily silent. But something else has moved in, and itโ€™s not happy to be disturbed.

Subterror delivers the same kind of pressure-cooker panic that makes Lethal Company so fun with friends.

P.S. Don’t let the blocky style put you off,

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Subterror on Steam

    11. Content Warning

Content Warning exploded in popularity for good reason. It throws you and your friends into a cursed underworld with one simple goal: film the scariest footage possible without dying.

You and your friends head in with nothing but a camera and your voice chat, ready to capture whatever horrors await. After each chaotic outing, youโ€™ll return to the surface to review your footage and relive every hilarious failure and close call.

Upload your videos to the in-game web, rack up views, and earn cash to upgrade your gear for even riskier and more ridiculous expeditions.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Content Warning on Steam

    12. GTFO

GTFO is incredibly tense! It is a hardcore co-op horror shooter made for teams who love a challenge. You and your squad of prisoners are forced into horrifying underground complexes filled with grotesque monsters.

What makes the experience so terrifying is that objectives require stealth and smart decision making. One wrong move and a horde of monsters will overrun your squad. There is no hand holding here – one wrong move and itโ€™s over.

Whilst GTFO focuses more on tactical gameplay than comedy, it shares the same DNA as Lethal Company. Four players exploring unknown realms where voice chat will be your lifeline.

If you want a more horrifying co-op indie game then try GTFO.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Built-in voice chat recommended
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: GTFO on Steam

    13. The Forest

The Forest doesnโ€™t look like your typical horror game, but trust me, it is absolutely terrifying. You and your co-op teammates play as plane crash survivors who are stranded on a remote forest filled island.

Whilst you scavenge for resources like food, supplies and materials, youโ€™ll uncover dark secrets. (One of which is a tribe of cannibal, cave dwelling mutants).

Youโ€™ll need to work together to build shelters, craft weapons and keep the mutant cannibals at bay.

The Forest is less mission based than Lethal Company, but it still has the same perfect co-op survival horror experience.

P.S. Watch out for ambushes and try not to wander too far from your fellow survivors.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC, PlayStation
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Built-in voice chat (non-proximity)
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: The Forest on Steam

    14. Emissary Zero

Emissary Zero is a sci-fi co-op game where you and your team take on risky scavenging missions in derelict space environments. (Exactly like Lethal Company)

Each run involves sneaking past automated defenses, avoiding alien threats, and extracting valuable tech – all while staying in contact via proximity voice chat.

Itโ€™s dark, minimalist, and deeply atmospheric, with high-stakes gameplay that rewards coordination and risk-taking.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Emissary Zero on Steam

    15. Escape The Backrooms

Escape The Backrooms is based on a viral internet creepypasta that has translated into the perfect co-op survival horror indie game.

You and your friends are trapped in an endless maze that is equally creepy and familiar. The environments fall perfectly in the โ€œuncanny valleyโ€ which makes the experience even more terrifying.

Around any corner could be one of the many entities that exist in The Backrooms.

Like in Lethal Company, teamwork is essential. Youโ€™ll rely on your teammates to solve puzzles, distract enemies and help navigate the increasingly bizarre levels.

A great co-op horror comedy experience for any Lethal Company fan.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Escape the Backrooms on Steam

    16. PANICORE

PANICORE Is a co-op survival horror game that drops you into urban legends gone wrong. Levels are set in cursed locations like abandoned hospitals, motels and subways. Your task is to escape whilst avoiding AI controlled entities.

Like Lethal Company, PANICORE has proximity voice chat, and creates tense and chaotic moments of horror that will stay with you.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“5
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: PANICORE on Steam

    17. Subnautica 2

Subnautica 2 brings back first person deep-sea exploration which made the first Subnautica the most terrifying non-horror game ever. But this time there is a twist – itโ€™s full co-op multiplayer.

You and your friends will explore open world alien oceans together whilst building underwater bases, gathering resources and surviving close encounters with colossal sea monsters.

In Subnautica 2, youโ€™ll experience heart-stopping moments, voice chat screams, unforgettable encounters with out of this world creatures and the same high stakes gameplay that Lethal Company offers.

This will be an indie game to remember.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: Co-op (multiplayer in development / confirmed)
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โ“ TBD (external voice chat may be needed)
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Subnautica 2 on Steam

    18. Backrooms Escape Together

Backrooms: Escape Together is another co-op multiplayer survival horror game based on the internet creepypasta called โ€œThe Backroomsโ€.

If you loved the unpredictable terror and group freak outs from Lethal Company, then this game will deliver more of the same.

The environments are well crafted, eerie and filled with entities that continually stalk you.

Youโ€™ll definitely laugh a lot as it shares the same comedy-horror genre that Lethal Company has.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“6
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Backrooms Escape Together on Steam

    19. We Were Here Together

We Were Here Together is a two player co-op puzzle game where communication really matters. You and a partner are trapped in a mysterious arctic research base and must solve asymmetric puzzles together.

Often youโ€™ll be separated from your partner and youโ€™ll need to rely on your in-game communication walkie-talkies.

This leads to suspenseful and isolating situations similar to that of Lethal Company. You’re bound to experience voice chat miscommunication, high-stakes teamwork and puzzle-based panic that can turn into laughter or frustration in seconds.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC, PlayStation, Xbox
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 2 only
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Walkie-talkie style required for gameplay
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: We Were Here Together on Steam

    20. Labyrinthine

Labyrinthine has you and your teammates survive in sprawling hedge mazes, cursed carnivals and even Backroom inspired hallways.

Around any corner could be a relentless monster that will chase you and your party to the corners of the earth. The game really excels at splitting you up from the rest of your group. This leads to horrifying moments where you realise you are all alone and itโ€™s the game that has done it. It also has a huge variety of enemies which makes it a great choice if you want a variety.

Labyrinthine captures the same unpredictable horror chaos that Lethal Company has, but with more puzzle solving and well timed jump scares.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Labyrinthine on Steam

    21. The Outlast Trials

The Outlast Trials reimagines the terrifying world of Outlast as a co-op experience. You and up to three other players are unwilling test subjects in a twisted Cold War-era mind control experiment.

Youโ€™ll be running and hiding from complete maniacs and avoiding non-stop psychological traps – all whilst trying not to scream over voice chat.

The Outlast Trials is a lot like Lethal Company but it leans further into pure horror and has a more sinister tone. But youโ€™ll still get the same โ€œwe barely got out aliveโ€ moments.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam), consoles planned
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Built-in voice chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: The Outlast Trials on Steam

    22. Little Nightmares 3

Little Nightmares 3, for the first time ever, introduces co-op to the dreamlike horror series. You and a partner play as two new characters, Low and Alone. You will journey through the world of The Spiral, a disturbing landscape filled with Burton-esque enemies and atmospheric dread.

While itโ€™s more cinematic and linear than Lethal Company, the addition of co-op means players will experience a world adjacent to Lethal Company.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch (coming 2024)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“2 (Online co-op supported)
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โŒ Not built-in โ€” use Discord or other
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Little Nightmares III on Steam

    23. Don’t Starve Together

Don’t Starve Together is the co-op version of Donโ€™t Starve. You and your friends must gather resources, craft tools, fend off monsters, and – most importantly – try not to starve. Every day survived brings new challenges, from shifting seasons to supernatural threats that creep in after dark.

Why is it like Lethal Company? Thereโ€™s shared survival, constant danger and group meltdowns when winter hits and no one has remembered to stock food or light the fire.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC, PlayStation, Xbox
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“6+ (Multiplayer with dedicated servers or LAN)
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โŒ Not built-in โ€” external chat recommended
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Don’t Starve Together on Steam

    24. PILGRIM

PILGRIM is a medieval version of Lethal Company where you and your friends play as pilgrims who have to push a giant cart along whilst a giant monster chases you. Along the road youโ€™ll come across areas where you can collect valuable loot that can boost your chances of survival and help you push the cart farther before the monster catches up.

PILGRIM is heavy on the comedy-horror aspect which makes it a great successor to Lethal Company.

It is worth noting that recently the number of early access updates to the game has ground to a halt. This has resulted in some negative reviews, but it is still a hilarious gaming session in its current state.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: PILGRIM on Steam

    25. Dark Hours

Dark Hours is a co-op survival horror game for 1-4 players where your team of robbers has just pulled off the perfect heistโ€ฆ until it all goes to hell. A supernatural force has taken over the auction house you planned to loot, trapping you inside with a demonic entity that hunts in the dark. Your mission isnโ€™t to steal anymore – itโ€™s to survive.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Dark Hours on Steam

    26. Sketchy’s Contract

Sketchy’s Contract is like an expanded version of Lethal Company. Itโ€™s a 1-8 player co-op looter horror game with an upgrade system, bigger maps and everyoneโ€™s favorite gameplay loop, loot and run.

You are issued a dangerous contract by a shadowy figure named Sketchy. The contracts have you visiting tons of exotic planets to hunt alien creatures and collect loot.

The game uses day cycles to build tension. Each day at 9am your crew must vote on whether to return back to the ship for safety or to stay for the Night Shift where threats multiply, but so does the value of the loot.

Overall a fantastic game to play if you love Lethal Company.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“8
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Sketchy’s Contract on Steam

    27. Barotrauma

Barotrauma is a 2D co-op submarine survival simulator with horror, chaos, and betrayal lurking just below the surface. You and up to 15 others (by far the game with highest co-op player count) operate a submarine exploring the depths beneath the icy surface of Jupiterโ€™s moon, Europa.

What sets Barotrauma apart is its deep systems: from nuclear reactors to sonar arrays, everything is interactive – and breakable.

Add in a possible traitor among your crew, terrifying alien sea monsters and a punishing environment and youโ€™ve got one of the most intense co-op experiences around.

Itโ€™s the kind of game where yelling over voice chat to fix a leak or stop the engine from exploding is just part of the fun.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“16 (Dedicated or peer-hosted multiplayer)
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โŒ No built-in โ€” external voice chat recommended
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Barotrauma on Steam

    28. Forsaken Frontiers

Forsaken Frontiers is another co-op survival game inspired by John Carpenterโ€™s โ€œThe Thingโ€. Itโ€™s a 1-12 player co-op analog horror game that drops you into a frozen nightmare where something worse than the cold lurks in the dark.

The style is PSX horror which really adds to the atmosphere and also mirrors Lethal Companyโ€™s retro style.

Frozen Frontiers has all the necessary elements for a memorable gaming session with your friends. Proximity voice chat, procedurally generated levels, a creative scoring system and many different game modes.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“12
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… Proximity chat supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: Forsaken Frontiers on Steam

    29. BIGFOOT

BIGFOOT Is exactly the game you think it is. Prepare for an evening of non-stop laughter as you and your friends hunt the legendary cryptid – Big Foot.

In my personal favorite game mode, one member of your party will play as Big Foot whilst the others play as hunters looking to prove that Big Foot is more than a myth.

Alternatively, you can have AI control Big Foot so that your entire party are on the same team.

Youโ€™ll set traps and try to lure Big Foot out into the open. Hopefully without the brute getting a hold of your fellow hunters.

This is the perfect game to play after Lethal Company. It’s got the perfect mix of comedy horror that made Lethal Company such a blast.

    • ๐ŸŽฎ Platform: PC (Steam)
    • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Players: 1โ€“4
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Voice Chat: โœ… In-game voice supported
    • ๐Ÿ”— Play: BIGFOOT on Steam
